NASHVILLE, TN.....12/01/08....From what has become his biggest solo project to-date, “PORTABLE SOUNDS,” GRAMMY and DOVE Award winning artist TOBYMAC recently announced that he will release brand new remixes of songs “Boomin’” and “Ignition” tomorrow, December 2nd, a month that is finding GMA’s Artist of the Year pretty busy:
-Available exclusively via all digital download sites, fans can also purchase PORTABLE SOUNDS re-bundled with the two new remixes added in for free, or for .99 each.
-TOBYMAC’s current radio hit, "Lose My Soul" (currently #2 on AC Monitored/#3 AC Indicator/#2 CHR Indicator), which features Kirk Franklin and Mandisa, will soon be made into a music video. Endeavor Media (Anberlin/UMG;Jet Black Stare/Island Def Jam; Bayside/Victory Records) will direct the shoot this December in Nashville.
-Speaking of video, The Gospel Music Channel will do a special premiere of TOBYMAC’S best-selling “ALIVE & TRANSPORTED” live DVD project on December 5th.
-TOBYMAC currently out on his Winter Wonder Slam Tour, and playing to some awesome crowds, including pre-selling over 8,000 tix in Nashville and over 10,000 in Houston. He won’t slow down too long over the holidays, as he’ll hit the road to headline the Winter Jam 2009 tour January through March.
With over 8 million career scans and sold out tours, "Portable Sounds" is TobyMac's latest and highest solo debut ever on the Billboard Top 200 chart (No. 10), and after hitting No. 1 on SoundScan’s Contemporary Christian Overall chart in its first week as well, the project is quickly approaching RIAA GOLD certification All three of TobyMac’s solo projects have received numerous GMA Dove Award nominations as well as GRAMMY nominations. In addition, "Momentum" (2001) and "Welcome to Diverse City" (2004), both were awarded RIAA Gold Certification.
